How to use this tool
Enter the actual spot and flood specifications. The tool linearly interpolates angle at the chosen focus setting; real focus scales may not be linear.
Beam and field diameters both use 2T tan(θ/2). The fixture count is based on the narrower beam circle, reduced by the overlap allowance. Each rectangular cell’s diagonal must fit that circle. This is a conservative geometric estimate, not an illuminance simulation.

Beam or field?
Beam is typically the 50%-intensity angle; field is typically 10%. Confirm the definitions on the fixture chart.
Does overlap guarantee an even wash?
No. Diffusion, fixture falloff, aiming and dimmer balance matter. Measure and focus on site.
